The Exhibition

Thin Air is an immersive experience that flows between the interconnecting spaces of The Beams. We recommend up to an hour and a half to move through the installations, either with a curator’s tour or with self-guided journeys. Ranging from live-action laser experiments to cavernous light and soundscapes, the installations are compelling, thought-provoking and big enough to get lost in.

Space 4

At the end of the exhibition, there is a dedicated event space with the capacity for a reception of 600 guests or up to 350 for a seated dinner.

The Terraces

Oval Studios enjoys the advantage of two interconnected terraces with views of Bethnal Green's decommissioned gasworks. The West Terrace stretches the length of the Main Space, providing an open-air area for receptions and breakout sessions. Meanwhile, the South Terrace offers a covered outdoor space with decking, ideal for year-round entertainment. It features built-in bar and barbecue facilities.

The Entrance

Designed to provide a fast and seamless arrival for up to 900 guests, the open-plan entrance has ample space for ticketing, registration and queuing. It is fully equipped with a built-in cloakroom and break-out washroom. This blank canvas space can be easily styled to elevate brand presence upon arrival to create a memorable first impression for guests.

The Main Space

Our Main Space is a truly versatile white, airy, open plan studio space that comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, but is equipped with blackout capabilities. It is kitted out with state-of-the-art production, including a lighting rig and sound system that can be reconfigured for any event or shoot. The room also has a mezzanine level, providing a brilliant ancillary area for breakouts or a meeting space. We have a fully-functioning onsite kitchen for all food and beverage needs. This venue is a truly functional option for productions, brands and corporations for a one day event, or a long-term studio hire.
